Workshop A: Mastering The Art Of Being Content & Single

Maturing into a woman can be extremely difficult and challenging in today’s world. If we are single by choice or by circumstance we must constantly deal with societal and familial reactions to our single marital status. How do we respond to pressures to be “married”? How do we assert ourselves on the job in a “man’s” world? What about our biological clock? How do we handle dating as a single parent? And yes, the big one, how do we handle our sexual desires? Issues of premarital sex, HIV/AIDS and infidelity will also be discussed.


Workshop B: How To Get A “Good Man” & Keep Him!

For women who want and value marriage, finding and keeping a good man is a lot of pleasure and work! This workshop examines the pros and cons of marriage. Issues of how to handle finances, old friends, religion, children and career are discussed.

Dear Joyce, "I'm a Black educated female, should I marry a White Man that is also well educated?

Greetings,

Welcome to the first edition of "Dear Joyce." My goal is to empower readers to enjoy life and fulfill their God-given destinies. Feel free to post your questions and share any resources or websites that you feel will empower women to grow, develop and achieve a sense of shalom in their life.

In response to the question posed above, I would say that marriage is about love, commitment, partnership, communication and shared interests and not how many pigments one has in their DNA composition. The color of one's skin will not save a faltering marriage, but love will.

I Corinthians 13 says,"Love is patient, love is kind... it keeps no record of wrongs... It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." Look for love in whatever color you find it.
